Job summary

AIG is seeking a pricing actuary to work with underwriting on pricing and strategy for personal lines. You will run profitability studies, present findings to stakeholders, and support rate filings while developing pricing tools and analytics with SQL, Python, VBA, and R.

Expect to engage with underwriters and actuaries and to produce regular reports. The role emphasizes in-office collaboration and a comprehensive Total Rewards Program.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computational Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Two (2) years of experience with personal lines of insurance.
  • Passage of at least two (2) Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop pricing and underwriting strategies with underwriting collaboratively.
  • Conduct profitability studies and present analyses to business partners.
  • Engage with MGA underwriters and actuaries; assist in rate filings and KPI monitoring.
  • Create and maintain pricing tools and models; produce recurring reports.

Job description

Work closely with underwriting to develop pricing and underwriting strategies and assist in the execution and monitoring of said strategies. Complete profitability studies on assigned programs and present analysis in front of business partners at varying levels of the organization. Engage with MGA underwriters and actuaries. Perform various ad hoc pricing tasks including profitability studies, development of new products, rates and other KPI monitoring, and filing support. Work with underwriters and the rate filings unit to manage program specific and state rate filings. Produce and distribute relevant recurring reports as required. Apply working knowledge of programming skills in SQL, Python, VBA and R. Utilize data visualization tools including Tableau or PowerBI. Support the development and maintenance of pricing tools such as pricing models, raters, and other analytical tools. Work with personal lines of insurance.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computational Finance, or a related field of study, plus two (2) years of experience with personal lines of insurance. Passage of at least two (2) Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) exams is required.

Salary Range: $133,474.00 - $133,474.00 per year
