Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Assist in pricing US Programs, including profitability studies and reporting.
  • Conduct due diligence and onboarding for new programs; support rate filings and rate studies.
  • Develop pricing models, tools, and KPI monitoring; partner with MGA underwriters and actuaries.

Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major insurance operating companies, globally. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions. As an AIG actuary, you will be challenged and encouraged to reach your greatest potential to help improve how we predict, manage and mitigate risk.

How you will create an impact

We are seeking adynamic Senior Actuarial Analysttoassistwith pricing the US Programsbusiness.TheSenior Actuarial Analyst will help elevate the technical capabilities of the underwriting team through dynamic work projects such as new program due diligence & onboarding, rate filings, rate studies, price monitoring, trend analyses, and building out portfolio management tools. The individual will be a trusted business partner, working with groups such as underwriting and product development to understand account decision making and pricing practices to support Programs in ensuring profitable growth. This will also be anexternal/client facing role as the actuary will engage with MGA Underwriters and Actuaries. Our actuaries work closely with our MGA partners providing insight and toolassistanceas a value add for our business.

  • Work closely with underwriting to develop pricing and underwriting strategies, andassistin the execution and monitoring of said strategies
  • Complete profitability studies onassigned programsand present analysis in front of business partners at varying levels of the organization
  • Perform due diligence analyses for prospective business and support onboarding for approved programs
  • Engage with MGAunderwriters and actuaries
  • Various ad hoc pricing tasks includingprofitability studies, development of new products, rateand other KPImonitoring,and filings support
  • Work with the underwriters and rate filings unit to manage program specificandstaterate filings
  • Produce and distribute relevant recurring reports asrequired
  • Support development andmaintenance ofpricing toolssuch as pricing models, raters, and other analytical tools.
Whatwe’relooking for
  • 3+ CAS exams
  • Programming proficiency required (e.g. SQL, Python, VBA, R, etc)
  • 2+ years of pricingexperienceacross a broad array of commercial lines,including:property, auto, general liability, and professional liability
  • Familiarity with AI tools a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills andcanworkindependently and as part of a team
  • Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
