Job summary

Carol Stream Park District is seeking ActivKids: Before & After School Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on supervising and engaging children in activities across elementary school sites in the district.

Ideal candidates are energetic, patient, and reliable, with the ability to interact well with kids and parents. A background check is required; CPR is a plus, and the team may offer additional hours through the Days Off Club program.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred.
• Patience, caring, and enthusiasm are a must.
• Ability to interact well with parents and children.
• CPR Certification a plus.
• Staff 18+ must complete driver's abstract and train to drive park district vans/small bus.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Minimum age: 16

Responsibilities

• Interacting with children, encouraging social growth, and leading activities such as craft projects and organized games (indoor & outdoor).
• Involves setup and cleanup of activities and spaces.

ActivKids: Before & After School Assistant (2026-2027 School Year)

Salary & Benefits

• Starting at $15.00/hour - $16.00/hour for 16-17 year old's.
• Starting at $16.00/hour - $17.00/hour for those 18+
• Complimentary Fitness Center and Coral Cove Water Park membership, two Coyote Crossing Mini Golf Passes, recognition awards, and social activities.

Hours

• Part-time position (employees do not work more than 1,000 hours in a calendar year).
• Monday - Friday (6:15am - 8:45am)
• Monday (2:00pm - 6:30pm)
• Tuesday - Friday (3:30pm - 6:30pm)

Job Requirements

Active, enthusiastic, and caring individuals needed to care for children in the park districts' Before & After School Program. ActivKids operates at all six District 93 Elementary Schools. Responsibilities include: interacting with children, encouraging social growth, and leading children in activities such as craft projects, organized games (indoor & outdoor), along with setup and clean up. Children's ages range from kindergarten to 5th grade. Opportunity for additional hours in ActivKids Days Off Club program.
