Job summary

ActivKids: Before & After School Lead is a part-time position with shifts Monday–Friday, mornings and afternoons, at Carol Stream Park District in Illinois. The role serves six District 93 elementary schools, guiding children from kindergarten to 5th grade through crafts, games, and organized activities.

The ideal candidate is energetic, patient, and reliable, with experience with children and strong communication with parents.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred.
• Patience, caring, and enthusiasm are essential.
• Ability to interact well with parents and children.
• CPR Certification a plus.
• Staff 18+ must complete driver\'s abstract and train to drive park district vans/small bus.
• Must pass a background check.
• Minimum age: 18.

Responsibilities

• Interact with children and encourage social growth.
• Lead craft projects and organized games indoors and outdoors.
• Assist with set-up and clean up of activities.
• Coordinate with schools and staff as needed.

ActivKids: Before & After School Lead (2026 - 2027 School Year)

Salary & Benefits

• Starting at $16.00/hour - $17.00/hour.

Shifts Available

• Part-time position (employees do not work more than 1,000 hours in a calendar year).
• Monday - Friday (6:15am - 8:45am)
• Monday (2:00pm - 6:30pm)
• Tuesday - Friday (3:30pm - 6:30pm)

Job Requirements

Active, enthusiastic, and caring individuals needed to care for children in the park districts' Before & After School Program. ActivKids operates at all six District 93 Elementary Schools. Responsibilities include: interacting with children, encouraging social growth, and leading children in activities such as craft projects, organized games (indoor & outdoor), along with set-up and clean up. Children's ages range from kindergarten to 5th grade. Opportunity for additional hours in ActivKids Days Off Club program.
