Job summary

State of New Hampshire’s Department of Health and Human Services, New Hampshire Hospital, seeks an Activity Therapist / Training and Development Therapist for part-time, 1st shift in Concord, NH. You will monitor training, deliver direct services to adult and geriatric psychiatric patients, and implement therapy programs to stabilize symptoms and improve life skills.

Qualification includes a two-year education/experience mix after high school and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Valid driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet minimum standards.
• Must perform continuous strenuous activities related to direct patient care and related duties.
• Preferred: experience supporting individuals with mental illness, disabilities, or special needs.

Responsibilities

• Develops, schedules, and implements activity treatment programs for social, leisure, physical, and wellness needs.
• Provides direct services to patients during on-duty hours with evenings and weekends possible.
• Observes symptoms, assesses needs, and plans therapeutic activities accordingly.
• Documents data in patients’ medical records and uses basic computer skills to generate reports.
• Collaborates with treatment team to provide safe, therapeutic services.
• Maintains clean, safe treatment areas and ensures supplies meet program needs.
