We are currently recruiting for a Full-time Activity Therapist Psychiatric.
The Activity Therapist Psychiatric is a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, responsible for providing therapeutic recreational and activity services to adult, adolescent, or child patients under HBHH care for emotional or substance abuse issues.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, occupational therapy) is required. Certification or registration is preferred. Candidates should have excellent communication, assessment, evaluation, and interpretation skills, along with knowledge of psychiatric and addictive disease diagnoses and treatments. Flexibility, teaching or training skills, and understanding of DSM-5-TR methodology are beneficial.
At least 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting is required. Inpatient psychiatric experience is preferred.
Certifications such as CTRS, TRS/TXC, MT-BC, ATR, LOTR are required. A current CPR certification is necessary, either obtained during orientation or existing. Hospital de-escalation certification is also required, obtained during orientation.
Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently. Activities may involve moving objects, working inside and outside, and exposure to various physical conditions such as moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, high places, heat, or chemicals.
