Job summary

WellBridge Healthcare Fort Worth is seeking an Activity Therapist to deliver individualized recreational therapy services within a behavioral health hospital in Fort Worth, TX. You will assess patients, set therapeutic goals, and coordinate group activities to enhance socialization and well-being.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Recreational Therapy, Texas licensure as a RT, CTRS certification, and CPR plus de-escalation training or completion within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy is required.
• Current Texas license to practice as a Recreational Therapist; CTRS certification preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments and establishes recreation therapy goals tailored to individual patient needs.
• Evaluates patient progress and effectiveness of interventions.
• Coordinates recreational activities for groups to promote socialization and engagement.
• Educates patients and families about leisure activities and local resources.

How you'll contribute

An Activity Therapist who excels in this role:

• Conducts assessments and establishes recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of patients.
• Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions.
• Coordinates therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization.
• Provides patient and patients family with information regarding leisure life styles and creates an awareness of recreational resources within the community.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy (required).

Additional requirements include:

• Current Recreational Therapist license to practice in the state of Texas; Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
• CPR and De-escalation certification required or obtain within 30 days of hire
