Job description

Lakeview Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Activity Therapist. The primary responsibility is to plan, organize, coordinate, implement, and direct expressive therapy treatment programs that provide leisure, recreation, and social activities for patients.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Obtain information from medical records, medical staff, family members, or patients to assess patient capabilities, needs, and interests.
2. Plan, organize, direct, and participate in treatment programs and activities to facilitate patient rehabilitation.
3. Develop and implement expressive therapy, leisure, and social activities tailored to patient needs.
4. Conduct sessions aimed at improving patients' mental and physical well-being, instructing them in activities such as sports, dance, music, art, or relaxation techniques.
5. Assess patient needs through observations, medical records, tests, and discussions with healthcare professionals, family, and patients.
6. Create individualized treatment plans and programs based on patient assessments.
7. Complete assessments and develop treatment plans accordingly.
8. Plan and implement interventions to prevent harm to patients.
9. Engage patients in therapeutic activities to promote recovery and well-being.
10. Assist patients in learning social skills necessary for independence or maintaining independence.
11. Preferably possess a Bachelor's Degree in Art Therapy or Recreation Therapy.
