Job summary

Regal Heights Rehabilitation and Health Care Center is seeking a friendly Recreation Aide to join our rehabilitation team. The role involves implementing group activities and assisting with transportation to programs, trips, and 1:1 resident visits to enhance quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Complies with and interprets facility policies and recreation department code of ethics.
• Documents Resident attendance/participation daily.
• Maintain care and use of program equipment and materials.
• Conduct therapeutic activities on and off unit as scheduled.
• Attend Resident trips outside of the facility as per assignment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation.

Recreation Aide Job Overview

The Recreation Therapist will implement a variety of group activities and programs based on Resident's individual abilities and preference to encourage and promote Resident participation. Successful Candidate must be compassionate, creative, energetic, and enthusiastic with the desire to enhance the quality of life of residents. Candidate must also have good interpersonal skills and assists alongside recreation therapist in the Department. Job entails transporting residents to and from programs, running some programs, 1:1 visits and attending trips, assisting with transport to and from off unit programs and other activities related to recreation therapy.

Recreation Aide Qualifications

• Energetic, extremely enthusiastic, creative, takes initiative, works well with a team, enjoys working with elderly people.
• Preferably 1+ years' experience working in a geriatric/adult population.
