North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH) is seeking an Activity Therapist in Jamestown, ND.

You will bring energy and heart to the North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH) by designing and leading activities that make each day more meaningful. From small group sessions on the unit to outings in the community, you will work with departments across NDSH, to ensure that people staying here have opportunities to enjoy engaging experiences throughout their days, nights, and weekends.


This isn't just about filling time, it's about creating moments people look forward to and remember. Whether it's a lively group activity or a quiet, purposeful project, your work will add joy and purpose to the quality of each person's stay.

To be considered for this position, you are required to have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas listed below.

Accepted Degrees

  • social work, psychology, counseling,
  • developmental disabilities, special education, vocational rehabilitation

  • elementary education, Child development and family science.

We will consider filling the position with an Activity Assistant at a reduced rate.


  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
