St. Barnabas Health System, Inc. in Valencia, PA is seeking an Activity Assistant for a full-time role that includes every other weekend and some evenings. The position offers up to $18/hour depending on experience.

You will plan, develop, and lead activities, and participate in care planning and documentation to support residents’ well-being. This role emphasizes teamwork and independent initiative within a compassionate aging-care environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work independently or with a team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, development, and implantation of activities.
• Develop and lead small, medium, and large group activities.
• Contribute to resident care planning: assessments, care plan goals and approaches, care plan meetings, and progress notes.
• Document records and care plans (Activity Assessments, MDS, Individual Care Plans, Progress Notes).
• Maintain daily attendance records and care environment.
• Establish relationships within the department and with other departments.
• Conduct one-to-one programs and prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies for activities.
• Transport residents to activities and assist with monthly calendar planning.
• Assist with field trips, outings, and maintaining a safe activity environment.
• Attend staff in-service meetings and oversee evaluations.
