Job summary

Green Palms Health & Rehab of St. Marys is seeking an experienced Activity Director to lead our activities program and foster a vibrant, engaging environment for residents.

You will develop diverse activities that support social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and personal growth within a compassionate care setting. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or Gerontology (or related field), strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 0 years of experience in activity direction or related field.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse population, including seniors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for activity programs in long-term care settings.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive activity program that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents.
• Recruit and supervise activity staff, volunteers, and interns to support program implementation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to identify and address resident needs, goals, and preferences.
• Design and lead activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and entertainment, including arts and crafts, games, outings, and therapy programs.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and policies related to activities and social services.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of activity participation, program evaluations, and resident feedback.
