Job summary

Rossville Healthcare & Rehab Center seeks an Activities Director to develop and implement activity and recreational programs addressing the needs and interests of residents. You will promote participation, plan events, and coordinate arts/crafts, outings, and spiritual activities.

The role emphasizes enhancing quality of life, maintaining patient participation, and documenting activities. A background in recreation or related training is preferred, with strong organizational and interpersonal

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with coursework in recreation is desirable,
• Completion of a state approved activity-training course is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities and related areas is desirable.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

As an Activities Director you are responsible for assessing, developing, organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the overall patient population within the center.

GENERAL DUTIES

• Develop and deliver activity/recreational programs to promote the patients’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Maintain precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourage patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc.
• Perform any miscellaneous work assignments as may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma with course work in recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved activity-training course is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.
