Job summary

Bradley Estates Nursing and Rehab in Brown Deer invites an energetic Activity Director to plan and run diverse resident activities, fostering recovery and social engagement. You will educate residents and families on healthy habits, and promote a joyful, therapeutic atmosphere with staff support.

The role emphasizes compassion, professionalism, and a proactive approach to activity programming, ensuring safety and engagement for all residents.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a social/recreational program, with full-time senior center or healthcare setting work.
• Experience with Arts & Crafts and ability to engage residents in activities.
• Enthusiastic, punctual, responsible, and able to work independently or in a team.
• Familiarity with CRM systems for resident profiles and events is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, facilitate and execute daily recreational, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual activities.
• Create exciting activities to fit residents' interests and needs.
• Organize family and resident events to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and themes.
• Meet residents on move-in to gather interests and update CRM profiles.
• Attend marketing events and resident/family gatherings.
• Schedule and run daily in-house events, solo or with a team.

We are looking for a Activity Director to help care for our patients and facilitate their speedy recovery. You will also be responsible for educating them and their families on prevention and healthy habits. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the greatest social experience to our residents, with little supervision. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to-promote patient’s being-by providing fun and exciting activities.

Responsibilities: Activity Director

• To plan, facilitate and execute daily recreational, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, group and individual activities while taking into consideration the residents' interest profile
• Create exciting activities to fit the various recreational needs of all residents in the community
• Execute special family and resident events to recognize secular, religious, national and indigenous holidays, birthdays and theme parties
• Meet with each resident upon move-in to complete Resident Interest Profile and enter the information on CRM
• Attend all marketing events, residents' parties and family/resident luncheons and/or dinners
• Schedule and carry-out, either personally or through others, daily structured and unstructured in-house events on an individual and group basis
• Supervise activities assistant, volunteers and hire entertainers

Requirements: Activity Director

• Two years of experience in a social/recreational program; one of which was full-time in a senior center activities program or social activities in a healthcare setting
• Knowledgeable about various activities such as Arts & Crafts and enjoy singing and dancing
• Responsible, punctual, resourceful, creative, enthusiastic and sensitive to the needs of the elderly
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently AND as a team member
