Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services seeks an Activity Director to plan and direct the resident activity program, coordinating both individual and group activities for diverse needs. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state-recognized certificate is acceptable.
• Option A: Bachelor's degree and 1 year full-time elder care experience.
• Option B: 60 semester hours and 2 years full-time elder care experience.
• Option C: Completed activities director course and 2 years elder care experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct resident activity programs.
• Organize individual and group activities for varying functioning levels.
• Complete MDS Section E timely and accurately.
• Develop activities component of the Comprehensive Care Plan.
• Conduct annual activity assessments for residents.
• Provide one-to-one activities for bedfast or non-participating residents.
• Prepare and post monthly activity calendars for residents and visitors.
• Prepare and distribute facility newsletter.
• Coordinate at least two off-site activities monthly.
• Participate in community events and arrange use of facilities.
• Collaborate with Corporate Events/Activities Coordinator on events.
• Recruit, orient, and supervise volunteers.
• Participate in QA meetings and Monthly QA reports.

Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Activity Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the resident’s activity program and the maintenance of necessary documentation.Essential FunctionsOrganize both individual and group activities based on the needs of the residentsEnsure that multiple activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residentsComplete section E of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) timely and accuratelyDevelop the activities component of the Comprehensive Care Plan from the completed activity assessmentComplete an annual assessment for each resident on the activities component of the Resident AssessmentProvide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and documents in the appropriate recordPrepare monthly calendar and post in an area that is accessible and highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors. Calendar should also be provided to each resident and posted in roomPrepare the facility newsletterCoordinate a minimum of two off-site activities per monthParticipate in community events related to the interest of the facility and arrange for use of community facilitiesCollaborates with Corporate Events/Activities Coordinator in organizing various employee and non-employee events for the facility.Recruits, orients, and supervises the volunteer program of the facilityParticipate in facility QA meetings and complete Monthly QA reportsEducational/Training RequirementsA.
