Job summary

Atrium Centers in Grand Haven, MI is seeking an Activity Director to enrich residents' daily lives by creating meaningful, therapeutic recreation experiences that support emotional, social, and physical well-being.

You will develop and implement programs, assess needs, document care plans and progress, coordinate events, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure compliant, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Positive, dependable, and team-oriented mindset is essential.
• Excellent attendance and reliability are required.
• Willingness to obtain certification (CTRS, MMT, AT) is expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement therapeutic recreation programs tailored to resident needs.
• Facilitate individual and group activities across varied functional levels.
• Complete assessments, care plans, progress notes, and MDS documentation.
• Coordinate special events, community outings, and volunteer involvement.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and company regulations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and families.
• Support residents’ spiritual, emotional, recreational, leisure, and social needs in group and individual settings.

What You Bring

• Minimum of 1 year experience in an Activities Department within a healthcare setting
• Willing to obtain certification
  • CTRS, MMT, or AT credential
  • RAC certification and good standing (required if not CTRS, MMT, or AT)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Positive, dependable, and team-oriented mindset
• Excellent attendance and reliability
