Job summary

Oakmont Senior Living seeks an Activity Director to lead and grow daily programming for residents. The role runs Sunday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a pay range of $24 to $26 per hour. Responsibilities include planning activities, supervising staff, and ensuring safety during excursions.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1 year of activity planning experience, and a valid driving license. Benefits are offered by Oakmont Management Group in support of staff and residents.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid license appropriate for community driving.
• Minimum 1 year experience coordinating activities for residents.
• Flexibility to cover holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, promote and direct activities and excursions to enhance residents’ independence and quality of life.
• Lead activities personally and encourage resident participation in all events.
• Recruit and manage Activity Assistants, Drivers, and volunteers.
• Maintain safety and security standards across activities and transportation.
• Assist with budgeting and promotion of a rewarding social atmosphere within the community.

The Activity Director is responsible for all programming, organizing, scheduling, budgeting, promoting, facilitating, and directing the activities and excursions for the Community in order to enhance the residents' independence and quality of life, in accordance with the company's mission and values.

Responsibilities:

• Provide an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
• Actively engage in residents' activities through personally leading activities and encouraging resident participation in all activities, excursions, and special events.
• Recruit, develop, manage and schedule Activity Assistants, Drivers, and Community Volunteers.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires current Class C, prefer either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience in providing planned activities and knowledge in evaluating residents' needs.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience supervising and managing employees and volunteers
• Flexibility in work schedule as evidenced by working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts when necessary to ensure adequate coverage within the department.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
