Job summary

Oakmont Management Group is seeking an Activity Director for Ivy Park at Lake Merritt, a premier senior living community. This full-time position runs 8:00 am–5:00 pm with Sunday and Thursday shifts to create a vibrant social program.

You will plan activities, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure safety while fostering meaningful resident engagement and community life.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Class C license (or higher) with Passenger Endorsement preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience planning activities for residents.
• Experience supervising volunteers or staff is a plus.
• Flexibility to work holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide a dynamic social atmosphere and promote resident participation through activities and events.
• Lead residents’ activities and encourage participation in excursions and events.
• Recruit, develop, manage, and schedule Activity Assistants and volunteers.
• Maintain a safe environment following established safety standards.
• Foster teamwork across departments and operate community vehicles when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide an interesting creative and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high quality activities excursions special events guest speakers movie showings exercise sessions the establishment of clubs games art and creativity opportunities educational classes and other such activities
• Actively engage in residents activities through personally leading activities and encouraging resident participation in all activities excursions and special events
• Recruit develop manage and schedule Activity Assistants Drivers and Community Volunteers
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff residents and guests following established safety standards
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co workers and other departments
• Able to drive Community vehicles

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Requires current Class C prefer either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement
• A minimum of one 1 year experience in providing planned activities and knowledge in evaluating residents needs
• Prefer one 1 year of experience supervising and managing employees and volunteers
• Flexibility in work schedule as evidenced by working holidays evenings weekends and additional shifts when necessary to ensure adequate coverage within the department
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs Word Excel Publisher PowerPoint etc
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests including physical and TB Tests
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate participate in daily screening surveillance testing and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment PPE to prevent the spread of the COVID 19 or other communicable diseases per regulatory guidelines
