Job summary

The Ivy Castle Rock is seeking an experienced Activity Director to plan, organize, and direct engaging activities for residents, promoting independence and well‑being. You will manage staff, schedule programs, and ensure safety across the community.

This full‑time role requires driving, fostering community spirit, and coordinating with teams to deliver high‑quality experiences while adhering to health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires current Class C license with Passenger Endorsement (Class B preferred).
• A minimum of one year experience in providing planned activities and knowledge in evaluating residents’ needs.
• Prefer one year of experience supervising and managing employees and volunteers.
• Flexibility in work schedule including holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts.
• Proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests.
• Oakmont may require vaccination, daily screening, surveillance testing, and PPE per regulatory guidelines.

• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with other departments.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.

Pay Range: $26.00/hour - $28.00/hour

The Activity Director

is responsible for all programming, organizing, scheduling, budgeting, promoting, facilitating, and directing the activities and excursions for the Community in order to enhance the residents’ independence and quality of life, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Provide an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.


• Actively engage in residents’ activities through personally leading activities and encouraging resident participation in all activities, excursions, and special events.


• Recruit, develop, manage and schedule Activity Assistants, Drivers, and Community Volunteers.


• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.


• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.


• Able to drive Community vehicles.

• Flexibility in work schedule as evidenced by working holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts when necessary to ensure adequate coverage within the department.


• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)


• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests


• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
