Job summary

Brookdale Senior Living in New York seeks a skilled leader to oversee the dementia care program within the Clare Bridge community. You will coach and supervise Care Associates to deliver person-centered programming, dining, and daily care.

Collaborate with the leadership team on dementia training, resident moves, and staff education on dementia care and behavioral interventions. Plan a calendar of dementia-friendly programs tailored to the needs of each resident.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in gerontology, therapeutic recreation or related field; minimum 3 years of management and direct supervision experience.
• Experience with residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in a residential setting is required.

Responsibilities

• You will oversee full implementation of resident and family engagement’s dementia care program and provide coaching to caregivers within the community.
• Collaborate with leadership on dementia training, preadmission/move-in/move-out processes, hiring, and education of associates regarding dementia care including how to lead programs and interventions for behavioral expression.

Base pay in range will be determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

• A Bachelor’s Degree such as gerontology, therapeutic recreation or related field with a minimum of three years of management and direct supervision experience preferred. Experience with residents with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in a residential setting is required.
