Job summary

Oakmont Management Group, operating Ivy Park at Playa Vista in California, is seeking an Activity Coordinator for Memory Care. This full-time role supports organizing engaging activities to enhance residents’ independence and quality of life within Traditions Memory Care.

The position requires 18+ years of age, a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior experience with seniors is preferred. A valid Class C license is required, with possible Class B; MS Office skills are necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer 1 year of experience coordinating activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C, with preference for Class B to transport residents.
• Able to operate a PC and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Vaccination/testing and PPE may be required per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist Memory Care Director in creating a rewarding social atmosphere in Traditions Memory Care.
• Coordinate and promote activities, excursions, events, and clubs for residents.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Maintain safe, secure environment following safety standards.
• Able to drive community vehicles and support teamwork across departments.

The Activity Coordinator is responsible for assisting with organizing, scheduling, promoting, facilitating, and directing the activities and excursions for Traditions Memory Care in order to enhance the residents’ independence and quality of life, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Memory Care Director in providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the secured Traditions area. Promoting resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors
• Requires current Class C, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)
• For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
