Job summary

Oakmont of Camarillo is seeking an Activity Coordinator for Memory Care. You will organize, schedule, promote, and direct activities and excursions to enhance residents' independence and quality of life. This role supports the Memory Care Director and involves regular guest speakers, events, and activities.

The position requires strong communication, a minimum 18 years age, a high school diploma, and a willingness to drive community vehicles. MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer 1 year coordinating activities with seniors.
• Current Class C driver license; Class B preferred to transport residents.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
• Vaccination/safety requirements may apply as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist Memory Care Director in creating a rewarding social atmosphere with activities and excursions.
• Promote resident participation through planned events, clubs, and programs.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and staff.

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday (8:30am - 5:00pm)

The Activity Coordinator is responsible for assisting with organizing, scheduling, promoting, facilitating, and directing the activities and excursions for Traditions Memory Care in order to enhance the residents’ independence and quality of life, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Memory Care Director in providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the secured Traditions area. Promoting resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.


• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.


• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.


• Able to drive Community vehicles.


• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors


• Requires current Class C, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents


• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.)
