Job summary

Oakmont of Westpark is seeking an Activity Coordinator for Memory Care to organize and direct engaging activities for residents in a premier senior living community in California. The role emphasizes promoting independence, quality of life, and meaningful connections with residents, families, and staff.

The position requires a high school diploma, a preference for 1 year coordinating activities with seniors, and a valid driver license to transport residents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer one (1) year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires current Class C, prefer Class B driver license to transport residents.
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist Memory Care Director by providing an interesting, creative, and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Traditions area.
• Promote resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, and educational classes.
• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.

Shifts, Time, and Days: Full Time - Sunday to Thursday - 8:30a to 4:30p

Pay Range: $20.00 to 21.00

The Activity Coordinator is responsible for assisting with organizing, scheduling, promoting, facilitating, and directing the activities and excursions for Traditions Memory Care in order to enhance the residents’ independence and quality of life, in accordance with the company’s mission and values.

Promoting resident participation through regularly scheduled high-quality activities, excursions, special events, guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions, the establishment of clubs, games, art and creativity opportunities, educational classes and other such activities.
• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, visitors, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles.
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
