Job summary

The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, PA is seeking an Activities Attendant to host children and family activities and assist with the outdoor pool, putting green, and Cocoa Clubhouse program. This part-time seasonal position supports guest satisfaction and hotel standards.

Work hours are Memorial Day through Labor Day, Mon–Sun 8am–10:30pm, with year-round weekend hours. Must be 16+; CPR/First Aid preferred or obtaining; clearances may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certifications preferred or willing to obtain.
• Child care and customer service experience is a plus.
• Clearances required under Pennsylvania law for employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all work areas so they are organized, neat, and clean.
• Conduct activities with enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Conduct activities according to the Standard of Operations.
• Assist with year round special event programs.
• Assist in maintaining outdoor recreational areas.
• Maintain open communications within the Recreation department and other departments.
• Attend scheduled department meetings.
• Maintain performance standards for areas of responsibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Hotel Hershey is situated high atop the town of Hershey and has 326 guest rooms, including 19 Villas with 98 luxury sleeping rooms, as well as 25,000 square feet of meeting and function space. The Activities Attendant at The Hotel Hershey is responsible for hosting children and family activities. Also is responsible for maintaining and assisting with outdoor pool complex, outdoor sports, 18-Hole Putting Green, and The Cocoa Clubhouse program. Must be knowledgeable of all aspects of the facilities. Will direct all efforts toward guest satisfaction, the achievement and maintenance of The Hotel Hershey standards and profit maximization.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Current American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certifications preferred or willing to obtain.

Child care and customer service experience is a plus.

This position may provide care, supervision, guidance, or control of children or may have regular, ongoing contact with children that is integral to the responsibilities of the position. As a result, in accordance with Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law, newly hired candidates are required to obtain the following clearances: a report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse), and Fingerprint-based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent (FBI). Completed clearances are required to be submitted prior to starting employment.

Job Demands:

This is a part-time seasonal position from Memorial Day - Labor Day. The working schedule for this position includes Monday - Sunday 8am-10:30pm, including holidays. Year round weekend hours are available September-May.

Follow all aspects of job safety.

Understand that the job may require bending, stooping, and lifting of materials up to 15 pounds.

The Recreation department functions 17 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to change an associate from their usual shift as business needs change.

Weekend and Holiday work schedules are a part of this position.
