Cogir Senior Living (formerly Cadence) is hiring an energetic, creative, and compassionate Activities Assistant (Activity Assistant) in our vibrant retirement community Nikkei Senior Gardens.

Our Activities Assistant supports the Resident Lifestyle Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and coordinating a wide variety of life-enrichment activities for our active residents daily.

What will you do as a Activities Assistant?

• Engage residents one-on-one and in small and large group settings.
• Lead or assist with group, and one-on-one, social, religious, educational, indoor, and outdoor activities, exercise, as well as assist with outings.
• Facilitate games, conversations, exercise classes, art and music, trips, and special events.
• Support the coordination of the monthly newsletter.
• Lead assigned activities.
• Encourage resident participation in activities and document outcomes when required.
• Review goals and progress notes.
• Assist the Resident Lifestyle Director as necessary.

If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:

• Positive team player attitude and love working with people!
• Japanese speaking is a plus.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, patience, and compassion for our residents.
• A minimum of 6-12 months of relevant experience, working with seniors, and leading life-enrichment activities, is preferred.
• Experience with memory care is a plus.
• Able to work independently and follow scheduled plans.
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, and always treat our residents with respect and dignity.
• Previous experience working in Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), Memory Care (MC), or Senior Living experience is a plus!
• A valid state driver's license.
