What you will do in this role

• Provide activity groups.
• Document the patient’s response to groups pertinent to patient treatment on a daily/weekly progress status, as appropriate.
• Provide and document appropriate alternate interventions when patients miss groups.
• Provide groups according to the protocol set forth by the Activity Therapist, communicate, and work with the patient to achieve the greatest benefit and resolution.
• Maintain constant communication with the Activity Therapist when the patient is not responding to the treatments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute in recreation related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days. May be required to work flexible hours, holidays, and overtime.
