Essential Functions
  • Comply with standards of business conduct in accordance with federal, state, and local health and regulatory standards and guidelines, as applicable.
  • Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Work well with peers in a congenial environment, maintaining compassion and dignity for residents, and adhere to the Resident Bill of Rights.
  • Be available for call back during emergency conditions if necessary.
  • Follow attendance policies and terms of employment outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Maintain high standards in caring for residents and their families.
  • Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
Position Details

Title: Activity Assistant

Department: Activities and Programming

Reports To: Activity Director

Responsibilities
  • Design creative activity programs tailored to residents' needs and interests, including a weekly activity calendar and one-on-one programming.
  • Collaborate daily with the Activity Director to serve residents, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Monitor operations of the Memory Care Neighborhood, including resident ADLs, meals, cleanliness, activities, and documentation.
  • Participate in delivering Memory Care Programming and assist with assessments and care planning.
  • Communicate with families regarding resident activities.
  • Assist in training staff for memory care and assisted living activities.
  • Coordinate special events and manage volunteer programs and transportation for outings.
  • Participate in resident move-in processes and maintain occupancy through tours and customer contact.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including emergency procedures and maintaining confidentiality.
Requirements
  • Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
  • Must be able to move intermittently, cope with stress, and relate to residents.
  • Meet health requirements including a medical and physical examination.
  • Lift a minimum of 25 pounds and assist in emergency evacuations as needed.
