Job summary

Missouri Slope Assisted Living in Bismarck, ND seeks a Part-time Activities Assistant to support the Activity Coordinator in planning and facilitating engaging activities for residents, including those with cognitive decline. The role includes some evenings and weekends and requires a compassionate, patient approach.

15 hours per week with flexible hours. You will assist in planning exercise classes, social gatherings, and crafts, while ensuring safety and adherence to facility policies.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in activity program preferred.
• Successfully complete all required training and/or certification within designated timeframes.
• Successfully pass a criminal background check, including motor vehicle record (MVR), drug screening, and reference check.
• Employees at Missouri Slope are required to receive the annual influenza vaccination as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordinating, and leading activities for tenants.
• Work with the Activity Coordinator to run exercise classes and social events.
• Interact with tenants individually and in groups, including those with cognitive decline.
• Read, write, and understand English to follow instructions.
• Hearing and vision needed to read instructions and communicate with tenants and coworkers.
• Be flexible and adapt to changes in procedures and assignments.
• Be a creative person and enjoy hand crafts, cooking, reading and other therapeutic activities.
• Be punctual and dependable with attendance.
