Job summary

Quail Park of West Seattle is seeking a Life Engagement Assistant | Driver for Part-Time hours to support residents’ social and overall well-being. You will plan, assist with, and coordinate a range of events and outings, and drive a 12-person van for local trips two days a week.

Ideal candidates have senior living experience, CNA credentials preferred, and CPR/First Aid and Food Handlers credentials. Strong English communication and basic computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in senior living environment and/or social activity leadership.
• CNA or previous experience with elderly in residential or long-term care preferred.
• Must meet health-related requirements for state licensure.
• Must maintain CPR/First Aid credentials.
• Must maintain Food Handlers credentials.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within specified timeframe after hire if driving.
• Experience working with seniors in senior living preferred.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills (Word/Excel) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing scheduled resident activities.
• Plan, coordinate and participate in social events and outings to meet residents’ social, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs.
• Model effective communication and behavior management to engage residents in meaningful activities.
• Ensure all activities occur according to schedule.
• Assist in recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteers to support the activity program.
• Help ensure resident care and activities are provided safely while upholding dignity and respect.

Part Time

Are you an outgoing person with experience in the Senior Living industry? Come work for Living Care as a Life Engagement Assistant | Driver. As our Life Engagement Assistant, you will be instrumental in caring for our residents’ “whole person”: ensuring their social, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs are considered. Our Life Engagement team plans a variety of events and activities to keep our residents stimulated and engaged, and as a member of this team you would plan, assist with, and coordinate these social events and activities. You will also help the wholeLiving Care team monitor and support residents by keeping up-to-date social history profiles and modeling behavior management strategies.

In addition to facilitating activities, this position also requires driving a 12-person passenger van to local outings. Please be available two days a week.

• 1 years’ experience working in senior living environment, and/or social activity leadership
• CNA, or previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting preferred
• Must meet all health-related requirements pertaining to state licensure
• Must maintain current CPR/First Aid credentials
• Must maintain current Food Handlers credentials
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License within specified timeframe after hire – (If Driving and if required based on vehicle occupancy and State regulations)
• Previous experience working with seniors in a senior living environment preferred

• Ability to read, comprehend, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, guests and other team members
• Subject to pre-employment screening including physicaland TB testing and criminal clearance

Activity Assistant | PartTime

• Assists in the implementation of scheduled resident activities.
• Assists, plans, coordinates and participates in a variety of social events, outings, and on-site activities, to address resident social, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs, and to ensure a positive and stimulating living environment
• Acts as a role model to community team members for communication and behavior management strategies, and in engaging residents in meaningful activity and social interaction
• Ensures that all resident activities, outings and events occur according to schedule.
• Assists in recruiting, training, and scheduling an adequate number of volunteers to support the community activity program
• Supports the team in ensuring that all resident care and activity is provided in a safe and effective manner, while consistently maintaining resident dignity, choice, and respect
