Activity Assistant - Assisted Living Part-Time

The ARBORS at STONEHAM is a family-owned and operated assisted living community, conveniently located on Franklin Street in Stoneham.

We are seeking a kind, creative individual with a passion for working with seniors to join us as an Activity Assistant.

This is a part-time position (24 hours per week).

The Activity Assistant will assist in implementing social and recreational programs for residents, including spiritual, educational, intellectual, sensory motor, cognitive, social, and health/wellness activities. The role also involves driving the van for trips and excursions.

Responsibilities

• Assess resident participation and engagement in activities and report findings to the Director.
• Encourage, motivate, and escort residents to planned activities.
• Implement programs including spiritual, educational, intellectual, sensory motor, cognitive, social, health/wellness, arts and crafts, music, exercise, games, and lectures.
• Assist residents needing additional support during activities respectfully and with dignity.
• Provide 1:1 visits to residents who prefer to stay in their apartments or avoid large groups but enjoy social interactions.
• Meet the Registry of Motor Vehicles requirements as an approved driver.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of paid or volunteer experience working with elders in home care, assisted living, or skilled nursing facilities.
