Job summary

Workstream based in Phoenix, Arizona, is looking for a dedicated Activities Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will assist in planning and implementing recreational activities aimed at promoting residents' well-being in accordance with care plans.

This role requires a high school diploma and a positive attitude. Responsibilities include performing patient activities, monitoring resident behavior, and ensuring all necessary supplies for activities are ready on time. Benefits include competitive pay and comprehensive health insurance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of various activities.
  • Perform therapeutic patient activities according to guidelines.
  • Monitor and report resident behavior and engagement in activities.
  • Ensure all materials for activities are properly organized.
  • Arrange transportation for outings and events as necessary.

Position Summary: Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual and emotional support programs, in accordance with a resident’s need-based assessment and care plan, and as directed by the physician and/or supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to plan and lead groups
  • Able to multi-task and plan for individual resident needs
Responsibilities:
  • Perform patient activities (therapeutic and diversional) for all residents in accordance with federal, state and company requirements
  • Carry out support tasks relating to patient activities correctly and on schedule
  • Ensure resident activity calendars and communications are updated and posted in a timely manner as well as delivery and communication of patient mail daily
  • Participate in special resident events and outings ensuring necessary supplies are on hand and returned appropriately
  • Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so that facility activities and resident progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting, and charting resident behavior
  • Involve the resident/family in planning activity programs when possible
  • Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and indicate the resident’s response to the service
  • Arrange transportation for field trips when necessary
  • Implement activity procedures as directed by the Activity Director by creating decorations, setting up necessary equipment, creating ceramics, needlework, woodwork and other crafts, escorting residents to and from activity area, and awarding prizes.
