Job summary

Sinceri Senior Living is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan and deliver resident-centered programs in Medina, OH. You will support the Resident Experience Director, follow the events calendar, and foster an engaging, caring environment for seniors.

The role emphasizes communication, organization, and a positive attitude while ensuring safety and compliance. Driving responsibilities may be required for outings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in social or recreational programming in healthcare preferred.
  • Experience planning and directing activities for elderly residents.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to promote activities and enlist support from facility team members.
  • Ability to evaluate residents' needs and adjust programming.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Resident Experience Director (RED) in planning and providing activities that support residents' quality of life and meet state requirements.
  • Follow Calendar of Events and promote an active, social environment.
  • Maintain updated social history and LifeProfile for each resident.
  • Support health and wellness programs to meet residents' needs.
  • Meet new residents and families to introduce activity programs.
  • Maintain inventory of activity supplies and submit needs monthly.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of events and holiday parties.
  • Drive community bus for outings or programming away from the community.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience working in a social orrecreational program in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • At least minimal experience in planning and directingactivities for elderly residents, and in planning, and organizing specialprograms for residents, families, and staff.
  • Good verbal communication skills, including the ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easilyunderstood.
  • Ability to display enthusiasm and a positiveattitude in promoting activities, and enlisting the support of facilityteam members for activity programming.
  • Must be able to evaluate residents' needs and ableto adjust programming as needed.
  • Able to respond to resident, family, or teamconcerns in a respectful, patient, and professional manner elevating concernsto the Administrator as needed.
  • Ability to represent the Community in a positiveand professional manner.
  • Current and valid state driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal backgroundclearance.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist Resident Experience Director (RED) in planning and providing activities that support and maintainthe residents' quality of life, and that meet state requirements foraddressing residents' social, physical, spiritual, and mental health.
  • Follows and implementsprograms posted on the Calendar of Events created by the RED that is built aroundresident life profiles and demonstrate an active, social, and creative environment.
  • Assists the RED in maintaining an updated social history and LifeProfile of each resident.
  • Assists the RED in maintaining a successful "Better Health for a Better Self" programto meet the health and wellness needs of the residents.
  • Meets all new residentsand families upon arrival, informing them of the activity program andencouraging participation.
  • Maintains the inventory ofactivity supplies and equipment and submits a monthly list of needs to the RED.
  • As requested, assists withset up and break down of events of holiday parties.
  • As needed, operates, and drives the community bus for residentoutings, community outreach opportunities, or another programming away fromthe community.
  • And other duties assignedby supervisor.
