Job summary

Ivy Living is seeking an Activities Associate at Ivy Park at La Palma in California. The role supports the Activity Director to create a vibrant social calendar and engaging events for residents, with opportunities to recruit and manage volunteers and collaborate across teams.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1 year of relevant experience, and a valid driver’s license. This role requires strong communication and a positive, resident-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prefer 1 year of experience coordinating activities with seniors.
• Requires driving ability with a valid license and ability to drive community vehicles.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in creating a engaging social atmosphere and promoting resident participation in activities.
• Develop and manage Community Volunteers as requested.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff with tact and friendliness.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment by following safety standards.
• Able to drive Community vehicles and support transport when needed.
• Encourage teamwork across departments and with residents.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Activity Director in providing an interesting creative and rewarding social atmosphere throughout the Community and promoting resident participation through regularly scheduled high quality activities excursions special events guest speakers movie showings exercise sessions the establishment of clubs games art and creativity opportunities educational classes and other such activities
• As requested develop recruit manage and schedule Community Volunteers
• Communicate effectively and display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents families visitors co workers and supervisors
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff residents and guests following established safety standards
• Able to drive Community vehicles
• Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co workers and other departments

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prefer one 1 year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors
• Requires current Class C prefer either a Class B or Class C license with Passenger Endorsement
• Able to operate a personal computer and be proficient in MS Office programs Word Excel Publisher PowerPoint etc
• Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests including physical and TB Tests
