Qualifications

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in social/recreational programs in healthcare.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and providing activities that enhance residents' quality of life.
  • Maintain inventory of activity supplies and assist with event setup.
  • Drive community bus for outings and outreach opportunities.

This position is Activity Assistant Memory Way, 9:30am-4:30pm.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience working in a social orrecreational program in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • At least minimal experience in planning and directingactivities for elderly residents, and in planning, and organizing specialprograms for residents, families, and staff.
  • Good verbal communication skills, including the ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easilyunderstood.
  • Ability to display enthusiasm and a positiveattitude in promoting activities, and enlisting the support of facilityteam members for activity programming.
  • Must be able to evaluate residents' needs and ableto adjust programming as needed.
  • Able to respond to resident, family, or teamconcerns in a respectful, patient, and professional manner elevating concernsto the Administrator as needed.
  • Ability to represent the Community in a positiveand professional manner.
  • Current and valid state driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal backgroundclearance.
Essential Functions:
  • Assist Resident Experience Director (RED) in planning and providing activities that support and maintainthe residents’ quality of life, and that meet state requirements foraddressing residents’ social, physical, spiritual, and mental health.
  • Follows and implementsprograms posted on the Calendar of Events created by the RED that is built aroundresident life profiles and demonstrate an active, social, and creative environment.
  • Assists the RED in maintaining an updated social history and LifeProfile of each resident.
  • Assists the RED in maintaining a successful “Better Health for a Better Self” programto meet the health and wellness needs of the residents.
  • Meets all new residentsand families upon arrival, informing them of the activity program andencouraging participation.
  • Maintains the inventory ofactivity supplies and equipment and submits a monthly list of needs to the RED.
  • As requested, assists withset up and break down of events of holiday parties.
  • As needed, operates, and drives the community bus for residentoutings, community outreach opportunities, or another programming away fromthe community.
  • And other duties assignedby supervisor.
