Job summary

Commonwealth-Senior-Living is seeking an Activity Assistant to plan and execute a variety of resident programs. You will assist with social, recreational, and educational events and provide transportation when needed to support daily activities for residents.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong computer skills, and willingness to drive a passenger van. Prior senior living activity experience is preferred, with a full-time schedule Monday–Friday and every other weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience preferred.
• Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
• Two years’ experience in activities strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge.
• Must have a clear driving record, current driver’s license and willingness to drive a passenger van.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning and executing a variety of exercises, social, recreational and educational events.
• Conduct transportation for residents, including medical transportation.
• Maintain knowledge of community services and events and incorporate into activity schedule.
• Establish a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
• Promote teamwork and positive attitude among staff and monitor activities with other disciplines as necessary.
• Continually evaluate the quality and consistency of activities and adjust as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Pay range: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Position details:

• Full-time, Monday to Friday; Every other weekend is required and occasional evenings.

The Activity Assistant assists the Resident Programs team in leading and executing the Resident programs for the community. Resident programs should encompass activities that engage all the senses and provide purposeful daily social and physical events that meet state requirements. The Activity Assistant carries out a specific set of tasks to fulfill the mission of the Resident Program Department. The Activity Assistant provides transportation when needed, provides support to the Program Director as needed and implements resident activities on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• A high school degree, additional college experience preferred but not required
• Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
• Two years’ experience in activities strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge.
• Must have a clear and insurable driving record, current drivers license and willingness to drive a passenger van.

Areas of Primary Responsibility

• Assists the Resident Program team with planning, developing, and preparing a variety of exercises, social, recreational and educational events.
