Job summary

Hireology is seeking an Activity Assistant to join our Resident Programs team. This part-time role supports planning, coordinating, and delivering engaging activities for residents, including social, recreational, and educational events.

The position involves driving residents, managing transportation needs, and collaborating with the Program Director to ensure programs meet state requirements. Candidate must have a high school diploma, strong computer skills, and ideally prior senior living

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in activities strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge required.
  • Must have a clear and insurable driving record, current driver's license, and willingness to drive a passenger van.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Resident Program team with planning, developing, and preparing exercises, social, recreational and educational events.
  • Conduct all transportation for residents, including medical transportation when needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of area services/events and incorporate into activity schedules.
  • Establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
  • Promote teamwork and positive attitude among staff and coordinate with other disciplines as necessary.
  • Continuously evaluate activity quality and adjust as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job description

Pay range: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Position details: Part-time; Rotating weekends and occasional evenings

The Activity Assistant assists the Resident Programs team in leading and executing the Resident programs for the community. Resident programs should encompass activities that engage all the senses and provide purposeful daily social and physical events that meet state requirements. The Activity Assistant carries out a specific set of tasks to fulfill the mission of the Resident Program Department. The Activity Assistant provides transportation when needed, provides support to the Program Director as needed and implements resident activities on a daily basis.

  • Establishes a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
  • Promotes teamwork and positive attitude among the staff and monitors/attends activities with other disciplines as necessary.
  • Continually evaluates the quality and consistency of activities for residents and makes adjustments, corrections, and changes as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned
