Job summary

Mosaicms is seeking an Activities Assistant to support a vibrant life enrichment program for residents in a senior living community. You will plan and lead daily activities and special events, aiming to enhance physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being.

The role requires a year of related experience, knowledge of dementia care basics, strong communication, and the ability to work both independently and within a team. CPR certification within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year experience assisting resident activities or event coordination.
• Knowledge of dementia care basics and activity planning.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with volunteer coordination or community engagement programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and leading engaging daily activities and events.
• Support programs that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being.
• Encourage resident participation and build positive relationships with residents and families.
• Prepare activity materials and maintain activity spaces.
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed.
• Document participation and contribute ideas to enhance programming.

• Collaborate with other departments to create a vibrant community atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and leading engaging daily activities and special events
• Support programs that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional well-being, including our Montessori-based programming “Thrive”.
• Encourage resident participation and build positive relationships with residents and families
• Prepare activity materials and maintain activity spaces
• Escort residents to and from activities as needed
• Document participation and contribute ideas to enhance programming
• Support holiday celebrations, themed events, and community outings
• Collaborate with other departments to create a vibrant community atmosphere
