Job summary

Arbors/Ivy Assisted Living Community is seeking an Activity Assistant to engage residents in a welcoming, inclusive environment. You will encourage participation, provide meaningful 1:1 visits for quieter residents, and support diverse programs such as arts, music, and outings.

The role emphasizes empathy, adaptability, and a patient approach, with driving responsibilities and collaboration with the Activity Director to maintain joyful, safe experiences for seniors.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1 year experience working with elders (home care, assisted living, or skilled nursing)
• Dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented
• Must meet Registry of Motor Vehicle requirements

Responsibilities

• Engage, escort, and motivate residents to attend activities
• Create a welcoming environment where everyone feels safe to participate
• Provide meaningful 1:1 visits for quieter engagement
• Support programs including arts, music, exercise, games, and outings
• Assist residents respectfully with dignity during activities
• Drive the community van for trips (RMV requirements)
• Observe engagement and share insights with the Activity Director
• Help foster a culture of teamwork and shared ownership

What You'll Do
