Job summary

Avantara Clark is seeking an Activity Assistant to join our caring team in a skilled nursing setting. This part-time role supports residents’ emotional and social wellbeing by implementing engaging activity programs and assisting with the Activity Department's operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent; NCCAP certification is preferred. Prior experience as an Activity Aide or in a managerial role is valued, with a commitment to safety and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• As a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior Activity Aide and/or Assistant Activity Director experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting.
• One year of experience in a director or managerial role.
• NCCAP Certification is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Implement and direct activity programs meeting the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of residents.
• Oversee all aspects of the Activity Department and participate in resident care conferences.
• Develop new activity programs and keep up with trends and industry standards to enhance resident wellbeing.
• Ensure residents are comfortable and safe through attentive knowledge and detail.

As an Activity Assistant you are responsible for our residents’ emotional and social wellbeing. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Clark by assisting with implementing and directing activity programs that meet the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of our residents, assisting with overseeing all aspects of the Activity Department, participating in resident care conferences and assisting with developing new activity programs to keeping up with trends and industry standards. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe. This is a part-time position that ,may include evenings and weekends.
