Job summary

Avantara Pierre is seeking an Activities Director to join our caring team in skilled nursing. You will lead the activity department, design programs addressing residents' emotional and social well‑being, and ensure high standards of care with attention to safety and comfort.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, prior activity experience in SNFs, and at least one year in a director role; NCCAP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior Activity Aide and/or Activity Director experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
• One year of experience in a director or managerial role is preferred.
• NCCAP Certification is preferable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the Activity Department.
• Implement and direct activity programs to meet residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
• Participate in resident care conferences and care planning.
• Develop new activity programs to stay current with trends and standards.
• Ensure residents are comfortable and safe through thoughtful programming.

As an Activity Director you are responsible for our residents' emotional and social well-being. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Avantara Pierre by implementing and directing activity programs that meet the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of our residents, overseeing all aspects of the Activity Department, participating in resident care conferences and developing new activity programs to keep up with trends and industry standards. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they are comfortable and safe.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have: At a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior Activity Aide and/or Activity Director experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting, one (1) year of experience in a director or managerial role and NCCAP Certification is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate!
