Job summary

Atlas Healthcare is seeking a Recreation Assistant to run daily indoor and outdoor recreational activities for residents. You will organize events like fitness classes, art groups, karaoke, and games, ensuring a fun, engaging atmosphere while maintaining healthcare standards.

The role emphasizes a friendly, outgoing personality and the ability to communicate well with residents and staff. Training in therapeutic recreation will be provided in a senior community setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Great guest service and communication skills.
• Willing to learn therapeutic recreation in a senior community.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to speak in large groups.
• Be able to lift 20lbs, push wheelchairs, and stand up to 8 hours.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must have computer and technology skills – MS Office, Audio/Video Streaming platforms.

Responsibilities

All Applicants MUST

• Have great guest service and communication skills and a positive, outgoing personality
• Be willing to learn the art of therapeutic recreation in a senior community and be motivated to meet healthcare standards
• Strong communication and organizational skills with ability to speak in large groups
• Knowledge and interest in sports and activity rules and regulations
• Be honest, reliable, responsible individuals with a strong work ethic
• Be available weekdays and weekends between the hours of 9AM & 5PM – This includes ALL holidays. If you can’t work holidays, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY.
• Be able to lift 20lbs, push wheelchairs, and be able to stand for up to 8 hours (or more if given/qualified for over-time hours)
• Be able to stay productive during slower business hours and when working alone
• Have reliable transportation
• Must have computer and technology skills – MS Office, Audio/Video Streaming platforms
• Be able to follow instructions and comply with ALL company standards
