Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services at Town and Country Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Boerne, TX is seeking a Part-Time Activities Assistant. The role centers on facilitating activities to meet residents' individual needs and coordinating programs to enhance quality of life.

The position involves assisting with beauty parlor/barber scheduling, providing one-to-one activities for bedfast residents, and creating monthly calendars.

Qualifications

• A school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
• A Certified Nurse Aide is preferred.
• Previous experience working in activity or recreational department in the long-term care industry or related industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate activities for residents based on individual needs.
• Assist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activities.
• Provide activities for bedfast residents on a one-to-one basis and document in records.
• Assist with preparing monthly calendars and posting for residents and visitors; calendar provided to each resident.
• Assist with generating the facility newsletter and participate in community events.
• Attend in-services as necessary.
• Assist residents to and from activities and support night/weekend activities.
• Deliver resident mail daily.
• Other duties as assigned by the Activity Director and/or Administrator.

Position Type: Part Time

Primary Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Facilitate both individual and group activities based on the individual needs of the residents.
• Ensure that activities are occurring for both high and low functioning residents
• Assist with scheduling beauty parlor and barber activities
• Provide activities for residents that are bedfast and/or unable to participate in group activities (one to one) and document in the appropriate record
• Assist with the preparation of monthly calendar and posting in an area accessible, highly visible and frequented by residents and visitors. Calendar should also be provided to each resident and posted in room
• Assist with generating the facility newsletter
• Participate in community events related to the interest of the facility.
• Attend in-services as necessary
• Assist residents to and from activities
• Assist with activity program including Residents’ Council and night and weekend activities as needed
• Deliver resident mail daily
• Other duties as assigned by the Activity Director and/or Administrator

Educational/Training Requirements

A school diploma or its equivalent is preferred

Licensing Requirements

A Certified Nurse Aide is preferred

Experience Requirements

Previous experience working in activity or recreational department in the long-term care industry or related industry is preferred
