Job summary

The Good Samaritan Home of Quincy is seeking an Activity Aide to join our team in Quincy, IL. Primary hours are 8:00AM - 4:30PM, with some weekends, evenings, and holidays required.

Salary ranges from $15.25 to $17.25 per hour, with bi-weekly pay. The role focuses on developing and directing activity programs to enhance residents’ quality of life in accordance with policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in a long-term care setting preferred.
• Computer-literate and able to use basic software.
• 2+ years working in Home Care or related services preferred.
• Ability to give instructions to others and to lead.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and implement a program of individual and group activities for residents.
• Identify and document activity interests, needs, and problems in residents’ care plans.
• Maintain an activity participation record for each resident.
• Attend resident care conferences as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Complete Activity Assessment within 7 days of admission, updating quarterly and annually.
• Carry out 1:1 visits to meet residents’ activity interests.
• Hold monthly neighborhood activity councils.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and decorations.
• Implement community outings and evening/weekend events as needed.
• Participate in in-service education and staff sessions relating to the Activity Program.
• May supervise volunteers under supervision.
• Ensure the safety of residents under supervision.
• Follow facility safety policies.
• Assist in maintenance of activity equipment and supplies.

Job Summary: The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs for your assigned unit and to help assure quality of life for each resident on an individual basis in accordance with current existing federal, state, and local standards as well as this facility’s established policies and procedures.

Pay Range $15.25 - $17.25/hr. - Bi-weekly pay

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned storage areas as directed by the Activity Director.
• Implement community outings as directed by the Activity Director (Full-time Activity Aide only).
• Implement evenings, weekend functions, and special events as necessary (Full-time Activity Aide only).
• Take part in in-service education and attend all in-service sessions relating to the Activity Program.
• May be responsible for the supervision of volunteers as directed by your supervisor.
• Responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision.
• Follow all facility safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in all maintenance of activity equipment and supplies.

Qualifications
