Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and lead daily recreational, social, educational, and group activities for residents.
• Encourage participation and provide one-on-one engagement for those unable to attend group activities.
• Prepare activity materials, decorate spaces, and assist with special events and outings.
• Transport residents to and from activities while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff through compassionate communication.
• Observe and report changes in participation or well-being to the Activities Director.
• Maintain attendance records and documentation of participation.
• Keep activity areas clean, organized, and stocked.
• Follow facility policies, infection control, and safety guidelines.
• Assist with other departmental duties as assigned.

Activity Aide

ALIYA of Palos Park is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activity Aide to join our team in Palos Park, Illinois. In this role, you will help create a positive, engaging, and supportive environment for our residents by assisting with recreational, social, and therapeutic activities that promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily recreational, social, educational, and group activities for residents.

• Encourage resident participation and provide one-on-one engagement for those unable to attend group activities.

• Prepare activity materials, decorate event spaces, and assist with special events, holiday celebrations, and community outings.

• Transport residents to and from activities as needed while ensuring their safety and comfort.

• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members through compassionate communication.

• Observe and report changes in resident participation, behavior, or overall well-being to the Activities Director.

• Maintain attendance records and documentation of resident participation.

• Ensure activity areas and supplies remain clean, organized, and well-stocked.

• Follow all facility policies and procedures, including infection control and resident safety guidelines.

• Assist with other departmental duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in activities, recreation, customer service, healthcare, or long-term care is preferred but not required.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
