The Activity Aide primary purpose is to provide recreational activities for residents. The Activity Aide will assist in planning, conducting, and participating in resident group activity programs and one-on-one activities. Presents programs according to physical and cognitive ability and interests. The Activities Aide ensures a safe environment for the residents at all times.
Helps resident maintain their highest level of functioning by presenting appropriate activity programs.
Motivate resident to take an interest in their life and community by investigating alternative methods of activities.
Prepare Recreational therapy (dementia group) as assigned on a weekly basis.
Delivers mail, flowers and other items to residents in timely manner.
Reads mail to residents upon request.
Prepares for activity program(s) ensures supplies are available and room is ready.
Encourages residents to participate.
Announced activity 30 minutes prior to start of activity.
Assist in transporting residents to activity program.
Conducts resident shopping as requested.
Accompanies residents outside facility to participate in community events.
Assist resident in craft projects and activity.
Creates decorations, setting up necessary equipment, and awarding prizes.
Supervise activities as necessary.
Safety and care of resident during activities.
Proper chart documentation or resident participation and evaluation.
Performs other duties as required.
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous long-term care experience is desirable.
Artistic background or previous instruction from a certified activity consultant.
8:30am - 4:30pm
12:00pm - 4:30pm
1:00pm - 9:00pm
5:00pm - 9:00pm
