Job summary

The Pearl of Fox River Valley is seeking an Activity Aide to support our patients by developing and delivering engaging activity and recreational programs. The role emphasizes promoting participation in arts, crafts, and educational activities while monitoring patient precautions and needs.

You will collaborate with the director to implement individualized activity plans and maintain documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; course work in recreation is desirable.
• Completion of a state approved activity training course is preferred but not required.
• Experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, educational activities, or community outings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and delivering activity programs to engage patients in meaningful activities.
• Maintain precautions/limitations lists for each patient.
• Encourage participation in group and individual activities across arts, religious, educational, and recreational areas.
• Assist in completing activity documentation in line with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description:

The primary purpose of the Activity Aide is to supports the effort of the Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing of activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the overall patient population within the center.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the patients’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, recreational activities etc.
• Assists in completing activity documentation, when needed, if trained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with course work in recreation is desirable; Completion of a state approved activity training course is preferred but not required
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.
