Job summary

The Pearl of Orchard Valley is seeking an Activity Aide to support the development and delivery of activity and recreational programs for patients. You will help promote participation in arts, crafts, educational and religious activities while maintaining safety and records.

Responsibilities include encouraging patient involvement, keeping activity documentation up to date, and assisting with program coordination under regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with course work in recreation is desirable; completion of a state approved activity training course is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.

• Assist in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote patient engagement and maintain functioning levels.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, religious activities, educational activities, and recreational activities.
• Assists in completing activity documentation, when needed, in alignment with regulations and policy.
• Other duties as assigned

Description

The primary purpose of the Activity Aide is to support the effort of the Director in assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing activity/recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the overall patient population within the center.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote the patients’ opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient.
• Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, religious activities, intellectual/educational activities, recreational activities etc.
• Assists in completing activity documentation, when needed, if trained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned
