Job summary

Lifepoint Health, Inc. is seeking an Activities Therapist Assistant for Columbus Springs East to support behavioral health services on a PRN basis.

You will collaborate with the Activity Therapist to deliver group activities, document patient responses, and adjust activities to maximize treatment benefits. You will maintain open communication with the Activity Therapist, contribute to a supportive and safe therapeutic environment, and help meet the needs of patients across age groups according

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree in recreation-related field preferred.
• CPR certification and CPI within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Documents the patient's response to groups pertinent to patient treatment on daily/weekly progress status.
• Provides groups according to the protocol set forth by the Activity Therapist, communicate, and work with the patient to achieve the greatest benefit and resolution.
• Maintains constant communication with the Activity Therapist when patient is not responding to the treatments.
• Contributes to the effective functioning of the patient's program. Understands the age differences and the corresponding developmental needs.
• Provides activities suitable to the patient's needs and offers a variety of stimuli in accordance with the treatment plan, with approval of Activity Therapist
• Contributes to maintain a quality program to satisfy the therapeutic needs of the patient. Offers direction and education to maintain clear communication of expectations.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED. Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in recreation related field preferred.
• Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.
