Role Responsibilities

• Apply appropriate therapeutic theories and standards in practice.
• Assess patient needs considering cultural, religious, and physical disabilities, and determine suitable activities and group capabilities.
• Document patient responses to interventions in treatment progress notes.
• Complete assessments within designated timeframes and contribute to workload balance.
• Develop initial and ongoing treatment plans based on physician or licensed practitioner orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience in a psychiatric healthcare setting, with preferred experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.
• Current unencumbered certification/license/registration as per state guidelines.
• CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays and overtime.
