Job summary

Sandy Health and Rehab is a skilled nursing and rehabilitation community located in Sandy, Utah. We are seeking an Activities Staff member to identify residents' needs, lead engaging activities, and adapt plans to fit cognitive and physical abilities.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of long-term geriatric care experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to communicate in English. TRS or TRT certification is preferred, with on-the-job training and continuing education opportunities

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.
• Experience in long-term geriatric care preferred.
• Ability to lead or support activities and adapt tasks.

Responsibilities

• Identify and support each resident's preferences, routines, and needs; communicate updates to the care team
• Lead individual and group activities aligned with residents' interests and abilities
• Adapt activities to meet cognitive and physical levels using prompts, demonstrations, and assistance
• Encourage participation while respecting cultural and religious preferences
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe activity spaces
• Store equipment and supplies properly after use
• Collaborate with the Activity Director on programming and planning
• Complete additional duties as assigned

What we're looking for:

• Ability to read, speak, and understand English


• High school diploma (or equivalent)


• TRS or TRT certification preferred


• At least 1 year of experience in long-term geriatric care


• Experience leading or supporting activities preferred


• May be exposed to bodily fluids and communicable illnesses


• Full range of motion; able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.


• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods


• Adequate vision and hearing (with or without assistive devices)


• Meets facility health and screening requirements
